Dr. Abid Faqir
Implant Surgeon and Restorative Dentist
Dr. Abid Faqir has extensive experience in providing complex restorative dental treatment and has placed thousands of implants.
He has a particular interest in the immediate placement of implants, has lectured both nationally and internationally on this subject. Although he limits his practice to the treatment and the management of complex cases; including digital planning.
He is the President of the Association of Dental Implantology and also mentors other dental clinicians to enable them to provide more complex treatments.

Abid graduated from the Glasgow Dental School before undertaking his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery in Edinburgh and a Masters Degree at Glasgow University.
He has further gained a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Edinburgh. He has had extensive training both in the UK and overseas in the field of implantology.
Abid is currently the President of the Association of Dental Implantology. This is a prestigious association in the UK helping to further education in Implant dentistry with the ultimate aim to improve patient care.
He has also been appointed in the past to the editorial board for the publication Implant Dentistry and as a committee member of British Society of Oral Implantology.
Outside of dentistry, Abid has served on the board as a trustee for the Riverside Museum Appeal and is currently a board member of the Glasgow Children’s Charity.
Dr. Ferhan Ahmed
Following vocational training in general dental practice, Dr. Ahmed spent 2 years working as a senior house officer in oral and maxillofacial surgery. These training posts were completed at the Southern General Hospital, Glasgow and Monklands Hospital, Airdrie.
In 2007 Dr. Ahmed was awarded the Membership Faculty of Dental Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow.
During his time at the University of Liverpool, Dr. Ahmed worked regularly in oral and maxillofacial surgery and was involved in many major head and neck surgeries.

Dr. Ahmed completed his dental degree in his home city of Glasgow in 2005. In 2012 following 4 years of further education at University Dr. Ahmed completed his medical training.
He was awarded an MBChB with commendation. With regular attendance at courses, Dr. Ahmed aims to stay at the forefront of his specialty so he can provide the best care for his patients.
He is also involved in lecturing and mentoring in dental implants and oral surgery to fellow colleagues.
Dr. Ahmed is a trustee for the Dental Aid Network Charity. He has completed multiple dental aid missions to countries in Asia and the Middle East.
The Charity aims to promote oral health for the impoverished through oral health education, prevention techniques and by providing simple dental treatment.
In his spare time, Dr. Ahmed enjoys spending time with his children and keeping fit by attending the gym and cycling.
Dr. Fearghas Lafferty
Cosmetic and Restorative Dentist
Fearghas leads the team at TeethToday Oban providing restorative and cosmetic dentistry. His caring nature and excellent clinical skills make him ideally placed to design the smile of your dreams.
He has developed significant expertise in CEREC one-visit crowns and aesthetic dentistry including crowns, veneers, bridges, composite bonding and restoring implants.
Complex treatment plans require good teamwork and the expertise of all members of the dental team to deliver an excellent result. Fearghas is also a registered Denplan dentist.

Fearghas graduated from the University of Dundee Dental School in 2008.
Fearghas’ first job as a dentist was in Oban, having gone to primary school in the area. After time away traveling and working abroad, Fearghas and his wife Natalie decided to settle in Oban and have started their family here. He invests significantly in his own development and is constantly on the lookout for advanced techniques and new developments in dentistry to better serve his patients.
In his spare time, Fearghas is usually running around after his boys and has recently been raising money for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and arranged a child CPR event in Oban. He also enjoys cycling and swimming.
Cosmetic and Restorative Dentist
Calum graduated from the University of Dundee in 2016 with Honours and has spent time working in general practice in both Edinburgh and Lanarkshire. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but in particular helping anxious patients to overcome their fear of the dentist. He also has a very keen interest in cosmetic dentistry and restorative dentistry.

Calum is committed to further education and completed a two part exam to become a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow and has attended many courses through Scotland and the UK.
Dr. Gregor McIntosh
Cosmetic and Restorative Dentist
Gregor is the cosmetic and restorative dentist at TeethToday in Edinburgh.
He is able to provide short-term orthodontic solutions and is certified to provide Inman aligners, Clear aligners, and Cfast.

Gregor qualified from the University of Dundee in 2011. Shortly after this, he gained membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
Gregor has a special interest in implant dentistry and is currently undergoing further training to carry out implant placements.
He is also working towards gaining a diploma in this branch of dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, he enjoys all sports including rugby, golf and football. He also likes spending time with family and friends.
Dental Surgeon and Sedationist
Kaila worked between two general dental practices in Drymen and Alexandria before moving on to work in the Public Dental Service where she provided treatment for anxious children under Inhalation Sedation and treatment for the elderly and medically complex.
She subsequently then acquired extensive surgical experience as a Senior House Officer working in the Oral and Maxillofacial Department at the Southern General Hospital for almost two years which included rotations in Head and Neck Oncology and Trauma.
Following this Kaila returned to Glasgow Dental Hospital to work in the departments of Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry.

In 2014 Kaila obtained membership of The Faculty of Dental Surgery at The Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow.
In 2016 she qualified in the practice of Intravenous Conscious Sedation in Manchester.
Since 2017 Kaila has been qualified in the interpretation and reporting of dental CT scans.
She is a member of the Royal Odontochirugical Society of Scotland, British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS), Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD) and the International Team of Implantology (ITI).
Kaila joined our team in 2016 and has provided an Oral Surgery service in Glasgow and Edinburgh during this time. She currently provides treatment under Local anesthetic and Conscious Sedation for child and adult patients in our Edinburgh clinic Monday to Thursday.
She is a dedicated member of our team and commutes from Glasgow daily to see patients in Edinburgh.
Her primary interest lies in the specialty of Oral Surgery and she has a particular interest in Intravenous Conscious Sedation, Dental Implants and the treatment of anxious patients.
In her spare time, Kaila enjoys keeping fit, socialising with friends and family and dog walks with her French bulldog Mishka!

She has over ten years experience in all aspects of dental nursing and administration and particularly enjoys oral surgery and implant dentistry.
She loves chatting to our patients about their dental needs, discussing the various treatment options available and answering any queries you may have about any aspect of our service to help you feel relaxed, comfortable and safe in the knowledge that your care is our priority.
